  3. What did we learn? • State Street is the largest in their field in Ireland. • They work with millions of euros every day. • They are responsible for investing this money and making even more money for their clients. • The level of responsibility and stress must be huge. • AND

  4. CV Workshop A CV must be… • Short • Concise • Relevant • Use different and relevant headings • 1-2 pages is sufficient • Edit and edit again • Make it interesting • Make sure you know your CV

  5. Interview Preparation • Initial impression isimportant – 7 seconds • You already have the job • The interview is you • You are delivering your version of your CV • Be polite, friendly, confident and smile • Maintain eye contact • Do your preparation • Always practice • Always ask questions

  6. Mock Interviews Before • Anxious • Focused • Nervous • Excited • Confident • Apprehensive • Scared

  7. Mock Interviews • After • Relieved • Glad • Happy • Positive • Overwhelmed • Sense of achievement • Delighted

We Say… • This was fun and interesting • Gerry’s sense of humour is legend and we will remember his advice in the years ahead • Well worth taking part in this programme • We will remember the suggestions / the advice when we enter the world of work • I’m glad our class was able to take part in this programme • The mock interviews were very practical and useful • It was great to be able to visit State Street and experience a “real interview”

  9. I know how to layout my CV properly • Got some useful tips for my next interview • We got to see State Street from the inside and what Gerry and Shane really do!!!!!

  10. WHAT WOULD WE CHANGE? • More Sessions per week • To have a question and answer session • To have a team building exercise • Bigger Group – session on attendance(to highlight its importance)
