Student Objectives • - (UQ1) Students will be able to classify family members in Spanish. • - (UQ2) Students will be able to demonstrate the correct Spanish pronunciation and the difference between pariente &familia. • - (UQ3) Students will be able to recite the correct usage of gender in Spanish a/o. • - (UQ4) Students will be able to learn and show mastery in typing Spanish accents correctly. • - (UQ1-4) Students will be able to learn and show mastery in new Spanish vocabulary. • - Students will be able to discover and study Hispanic culture. http://or.ucr.edu/images/pictures/centers/FamilyStudies.jpg
Unit Summary • This is a unit on the Spanish language. It focuses on Spanish family vocabulary. Teacher will provide a power point presentation which will provide background information; it will also include Spanish vocabulary related to family, differences between a/o, and the correct usage of the Spanish accent. Student Assesments Pre-test: • Students will be provided with index cards on which they will write on one side anything they know and on the other what they don’t know; the data must be related to Spanish language and/or Hispanic culture. Mid-Test: • Students will be graded on Hispanic family collage Rubric and on the Inspiration activity Rubric; both rubrics give points for the correct use of grammar, books, technology, pre-planning and teamwork.
