Newton’s 3 Laws of Motion An object at rest remains at rest, and an object in motion remains in motion, until an unbalanced force acts on it. Acceleration is produced when a force acts on a mass. The greater the mass, the greater the amount of force needed to accelerate the object. For every action by a force, there is an equal and opposite reaction by another force.
