This report highlights the relief work done by our employees in response to natural disasters in Uttrakhand, as well as our community initiatives such as orphanage visits and blood donation camps. We have completed construction of community toilets, provided educational support kits to students, and offered vocational training courses.

Introduction • The employees of TR India have always responded to any natural calamities. • 2004 – Tsunami hit the South East Asian Countries and the Southern Coast of India was severely affected and the employees rose to the occasion by contributing one day’s salary. • The Monsoons of 2006 devastated the States of Bihar, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal and here again employees came forward to donate a day’s salary to the victims. • A repetition of the floods in November 2009 in North Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh saw the employees rise once again to the occasion. • Our employees participated very actively during the relief work after the natural calamity overran the State of Uttrakhand in June 2013. • We regularly visit nearby Orphanages and supply them stationeries, books & other, medicines & essential commodities. • Our Company has actively participated in Community activities, including organizing blood donation camps every year. Natural disaster in Uttrakhand in June 2013 • In June 2013, Uttrakhand, a State in Northern India, was inundated by heavy floods in the Ganges & its tributaries along with massive cloudbursts, leading to disaster of colossal magnitude. • More than a thousand people lost their lives. • Thousands of people lost their houses, sources of livelihood & cattle. • Destruction of bridges and roads left about 100,000 pilgrims and tourists trapped in the valleys across the four worst affected districts of Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Uttarkashi and Pithoragarh& TehriGarwal. • Villages of Bangar & Parodi, in the district of TehriGarhwal is the focus of our current relief work. Demographics of Uttrakhand UTTRAKHAND • Uttrakhand is a hilly region abetting the States of Himachal Pradesh & Uttar Pradesh. • The State comprises 13 districts & has a population of over 10 million. • It is the 27th State formed by an Act of Parliament in the year 2000 and has a Legislative Assembly with 70 members and also has 05 members of Parliament representing the State. • The State is run by Congress Party and has Mr. Harish Rawat as the present Chief Minister. • The State is endowed with diverse natural resources i.e. large dense forests with varieties of flora, fauna & wild life, minerals like limestone, phosphate, dolomite, copper etc. • The main occupations are related to tourism, agricultureand mineral extraction. Scope of Relief work in Uttrakhand • TUVR has targeted to be complete this relief project within a duration of six months starting in March 2014. • Supporting partner of TUVR in this mission is Divine International Foundation, an NGO working inUttrakhand. • The aim is to create better livelihood opportunities for the affected people of this region. • The total cost of the project is estimated at around 9,99,000 INR ( 12,610 Euros) & the beneficiaries are inhabitants of the villages of Bangar & Parodi. • The major activities accomplished till 31st July 2014 are the following: • Construction of eight community toilets completed, three more under construction. • Installation of 40 water tanks of 500 litre capacity each completed. • Distributed One hundred educational support kit & books to school students. • Provided vocational training classes in Computer Application, Retail Sales & BPO to a batch of fifty students and to be awarded Certificates of completion by 2nd week of August.   26. CSR Initiatives –TR India’s Participation • Initiated in May 2009 – Assisted a Tent School named Jnana Jyothi School in Kundalahalli, Bangalore • The School is being run for the children of unskilled labour force engaged in the construction industry • Provided basic infrastructure in terms of Cupboards, Books and writing material to the school children • Total number of children benefited – about 40 • Mr.UlrichFeitz, Board Member, TUV Rheinland Group and senior management of TR India participated in this event CSR Activity Report 2004-2015

  35. Other Activities • Keeping in line with our core business, we approached DEG to fund a project concerning enviornment. This Project “ SHINE “ was approved by DEG . The object of this project was to qualify 10 industries from the SME segment to comply with environmental regulations and adopt best industry practices. The stake holders for this project were TR India, DEG and the State Pollution Control Board. The Project received a good media response • Yet an other PPP Project –(SEBSSR) Sustainable and Enviornmental Balanced and Safer Ship Recycling was undertaken in Bangladesh. This was again fsponsored by DEG and aimed at addressing the current problems related to Enviornment, Health, Safety and Social aspects in the Ship Recycling Industry • The third project financed by DEG related to Comprehensive Food Safety Programme for the Dairy Industry in the States of Punjab and Haryana, mainly aimed at raising the levels of awareness and compliance to various international standards and best management practices for food safety for the diary industry CSR Activity Report 2004-2015

  36. Other Activities (Contd..) • DEG funded yet another project –HSPM Hazardous Substance Process Management mainly related to disposal of e-waste • In order to create awareness about REACH initiatives amongst the leather manufacturers-exporters in the South Indian towns of Ranipet and Karur, the PPP Project with the sponsorship of DEG has reached it’s concluding stage • We also worked with SEQUA, to fund our program on Energy Management with Jain University, with whom we have signed an MOU CSR Activity Report 2004-2015
