Summary • Charge is a fundamental property of matter. • Two types of charge: positive and negative. • Like charges repel, unlike charges attract. • Voltageprovides potential for charges to flow. • Current measures number of charges flowing by in a given time interval. • Power is the rate of energy per time required to move a charge or released by a moving charge. • Circuits are “plumbing for charges”, physical systems for controlling charge flow. • Electrical Engineers design circuits to store and move charge to represent information and to do work.
