Promotion of the Intelligent Combination of Sun and Wood for Producing Warm Water and Heating for Private Houses – ICOSAW – EIE 05/070/SI2.420198 – Duration: 26 months, from 01.01.2006 to 28.02.2008
Summary of the project ICOSAW: Main objective: Increasing the proportion of energy for private houses produced by the combination of sun and wood by tackling the market from two angles: demand and supply Project partners: • Center for environment of the Chamber of crafts Trier, Germany • Europa Institutet/ Euro Info Center Västerås, Sweden • Slovakian Trade and Technique Association Zvolen, Slovakia • Center for Environmental Protection and Management of the Chamber of Crafts Rheinhessen, Germany Main results: Concepts for educational measures, marketing, network creation and public relations, which have been tested by the project partners and can be adapted to other countries EIE 05/070/SI2.420198 – Duration: 26 months, from 01.01.2006 to 28.02.2008
Background of the project ICOSAW: • Periods of sunshine in countries of Northern and Middle Europe are irregular and relatively short • Widely spread is the opinion, that the reasonable use of solar energy is not possible Solution to use the cheap and renewable energy source sun reasonably: • Combining solar panels with wood fuel heating systems • Wood fuel system switches on in times of less sunshine Main benefits: • Private households secure their energy supply independently from energy imports and the international oil prices • Reduction of CO2-emissions • Reasonable use of residual woods • Strengthen of local economies by using local energy source and supporting crafts enterprises in new business fields EIE 05/070/SI2.420198 – Duration: 26 months, from 01.01.2006 to 28.02.2008
Objectives and main steps of the project ICOSAW: Objectives: • Reducing training deficits among craftsmen, architects, engineers and planners. • Reducing training deficits among students and apprentices • Reducing information deficits among the general public, especially building owners Main steps: • Developing a concept for training measures • Developing a marketing concept for the target groups craftsmen, architects etc. and the general public • Creating regional networks in every partner region • Creating an international network of multipliers for the technique • Developing concepts for the promotion of the technique EIE 05/070/SI2.420198 – Duration: 26 months, from 01.01.2006 to 28.02.2008
Expected results of the project ICOSAW • Global training concept • Adapted further education materials for the target groups craftsmen, architects etc., students and apprentices • Market analysis of the partner countries • Marketing concept with instruments for craftsmen etc. to market the technique and with measures for informing the general public • A bundle of information material about the combination of sun and wood • Different press releases • Network concept • Network that bundle the different competences regarding the combination of sun and wood • Website • Concepts for radio- and TV-reports about the technique • Concept for the presentation of the technique at fairs and events EIE 05/070/SI2.420198 – Duration: 26 months, from 01.01.2006 to 28.02.2008
