  3. RH ES 3 Nieuwe versie om de 12 – 18 maanden. 5 jaar support. Security & Bug fix tot 3 jaar na volgende release. Eenvoudige upgrade. Gecertifieerd door top van Hard- & Software-vendors. Education-versie van RH AS voor $50. Samba 3 NTLMV2 LDAP in mix mode (UID-def & Netbios)

Installatie RH ES 3 Installatie Instrukties RH ES 31 : pclabftp  /free/linsam/documentatie/Installatie.RHES31.doc STAP 1 : Nodig : 1 Kickstart Diskette & 4 CD’s RH ES (LUDIT – PC-Labo) Aanpassen bestand KS.CFG op diskette : - keyboard be-latin1 of keyboard uk - rootpw xxxxxxxx - network ip=10.33.6.xx … .. .. . .. Na opstarten server met Kickstart Diskette  Server voeden met CD’s. STAP 2 : Installatie bijkomende applicaties. (Samba, Webmin, TSM, …. ) STAP 3 :  reboot

Configureren Win-Clients. Appendix : Connectie Externe Harde Schijf via FireWire.

  7. Upgrade RH 7.3 naar RH ES 3 Upgrade kan NIET ! Installatie RH ES 3 met behoud van RH 7.3 Config en Data kan WEL! Migratiepad via 4 Procedures. Upgrade Instrukties RH 7.3 naar RH ES 31 : pclabftp  /free/linsam/documentatie/Ûpgrade.RHES31.doc Procedure 1 : Back-Up van Configuratiebestanden. Config-Files op Diskette & HardDisk. passswd shadow group smbpasswd smb.conf .. . . ….

  8. Upgrade RH 7.3 naar RH ES 3 Procedure 2 : Bewaren van “/home” en zijn “shares”. Bepalen via “mount” & “fdisk” op welke partitie “/home” staat. Aanpassen in “ks.cfg” van partitie configuratie. Procedure 3 : Installatie van RH ES 3. 1 Kickstart Upgrade Diskette & 4 CD’s RH ES (LUDIT – PC-Labo) Aanpassen in “ks.cfg” van keyboard, rootpw & ip-info. Procedure 4 : Restore Configuratiebestanden. Bestanden aangemaakt in “Procedure 1” Appendix : Connectie Externe Harde Schijf via FireWire.
