About Us • Primo Automation is a 25-year old welding automation specialist based out of Chennai, India • We are in the business of Conceptualizing, Designing, Manufacturing, Installing and Commissioning Special Purpose Welding and Cutting Automation Systems since 1995. • We’ve been supplying H-Beam machines since 1999. We’ve installed 70 machines in 5 countries for more than 50 clients, and are currently executing 5 more. • In total, our machines produce approximately 25,000 tons of welded beams every month at our customer premises.

Machine Configurations • The Automatic H-Beam Welder comes in three types of configurations: • 2-In-One • Independent Tack + Pull-Through • Independent Tack + Pull-Through + Splice (Full Line)

PRIMO’s Unique merits – From a User perspective • Primo’s machines can bend and form the flanges the shape of the web, upto a thickness of 16mm. Our heavy duty machines can bend upto 32mm. • This means the customer need not prepare 2 beams and weld / bolt them together, to form one Double taper beam (such as center rafter)
PRIMO’s Unique merits – From a User perspective • Also because of this bending capability, even combination beams with taper and parallel portions can be welded in one go, without the need for full length tacking.
PRIMO’s Unique merits – From a User perspective • Also because of this bending capability, in addition to Parallel and single taper beams, even for shapes like double taper beams, there is no need to do full length tacking.

PRIMO’s Unique merits – From a User perspective • Primo’s machines can uniquely weld beams of the shape shown below. This allows our customers to also weld beams for Railway and Bridge applications.
PRIMO’s Unique merits – From a User perspective • In addition to the standard machine meant for the PEB segment, Primo also offers it’s heavy duty machines in 2 size ranges. • One upto 32 mm of flange thickness • Another upto 50 mm of flange thickness

PRIMO’s Unique merits – from a machine perspective • Primo’s current collection system does not deploy any surfaces that keep rubbing against the flanges, as in the case of competing machines. It’s a unique rotary design, that takes the welding return current out of the machine, directly from the weld zone. Has led to substantial improvement in reliability and less headache for maintenance personnel.
PRIMO’s Unique merits – from a machine perspective • Primo’s horizontal flange guide rolls at Entry of the auto welder are operated by a highly reliable hydraulic system, unlike the pneumatic design of competition.
PRIMO’s Unique merits – from a machine perspective • Primo’s unique Pull through drive roll design has a copper surface right behind the weld zone, that protects the drive wheels from any blow through.
PRIMO’s Unique merits – from a machine perspective • Primo’s unique Speed Synchronization PLC program, ensures that the surface speed of the drive rolls and the conveyor rolls are all same, regardless of the beam travel speed. This means less of wear and tear of the conveyor rolls for our customers.
PRIMO’s Unique merits – from a machine perspective • Primo’s machines have different welding modes, that gives the following options to the user. • Mode: A – Continuous weld on both sides • Mode: B – Continuous weld on LH side and Stitch weld RH side • Mode: C – Continuous weld on RH side and Stitch weld LH side • Mode: D – Stich weld on both sides
PRIMO’s Unique merits – from a machine perspective • Over and above what is mentioned above, we also would like to point out to you, that when customers are using web and flanges of less than 12mm (as is predominantly the case in PEB segment), the customers neither feel the demerits of competitor machines, nor the merit of our machine. However, when they start using thicknesses higher than 12mm, then they realize the heavy duty ness of our machine, and the flimsiness of the competitor machines.
PRIMO’s Unique merits – After sales support • In these types of machines (mother machines), it is very important for the customer to have support from the designer/manufacturer available locally. This is due to the fact that these machines are key mother machines, and a stoppage of this machine means total stoppage of fabrication. We are well known over the years for our customer support capability (for hydraulic, mechanical, electronic PLC programming & welding process related support) and ethics.
