  2. HISTORY • Creted in February 14, 2005 • Creators: Steve Chen, Chad Hurley, JawedKarim. • Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim,Hurley studied design at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. • Chen and Karim studied computer science together at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

  3. HISTORY • Began as a venture-funded technology startup • Primarily $11.5 million investment by Sequoia Capital between November 2005 and April 2006 • YouTube's headquarters situated above a pizzeria and Japanese restaurant in San Mateo, California.

  4. WHAT IS YOUTUBE? • A video-sharing website, created in February 2005, which users can upload, view and share videos. • Variety of video content, movie clips, TV clips, music videos.

  5. Whatisyoutube? • Unregistered users can watch videos • Registered users can upload unlimited number of videos. • Videos considered to contain offensive content are available only to registered users at least 18 years old.

  6. Youtube in Education • Some schools, colleges and universities have their own channel on YouTube. • YouTube EDU appear where up materials for community education. • Which can be viewed by students both inside and outside the institution.
