MAJ Brothers and SPC Poole on SUN WHAT: Key Leader Certification for all BN leadership AFPT and “XO’s Challenge” WHEN: 10-11 Sep 11 WHERE: Boonville and Kansas City Armories WHY: Key Leader Certification intent was to “Re-Blue” the BN leadership. XO’s challenge intent was to motivate Soldiers to try to beat the XO’s PT score on the annual APFT • KEY LEADER CERT:HQ 1-138TH IN REGT hosted its first key leader certification at Alpha Company in Boonville, Missouri on 1 October 2011. The purpose of the training, in the words of LTC Cumpton (Bn Cdr) was to “Re-Blue” our leadership in the areas of ISAR, Platoon Tactics, and Marksmanship principles. All Platoon Sergeants and above attended the one-day training event, and are now ready to move forward, in unison, across the entirety of the First Missouri. • APFT CHALLENGE:MAJ Brothers, XO of the 1-138th IN REGT, posed a challenge to any and all Soldiers of the 1-138th IN REGT that if they beat his APFT score, he will give them a “prize”. • During the Sep11 drill, SPC Poole took him up on the offer, and beat him by one point --scoring a 300 to the XO’s 299. As his reward, he got the opportunity to “drop” a Major . As a team-player and all-around good sport, SPC Poole dropped with him in front of the entire HHC formation - knocking out 25 reps for fun, and 1 for the Infantry.
