  2. LCAP 2015-16 • Revised Template – Three Major Sections • Section 1 – Stakeholder Engagement • Section 2 – Goals, Actions, Expenditures, & Progress Indicators • Includes Annual Update • Use of Supplemental and Concentration Grant Funds & Proportionality

  3. Goal #1 • Increase achievement for all students, narrow the gap between high and low performing student subgroups, and increase the graduation rate.

  4. Goal #1 Continuing & Expanded Services • Two additional math teachers - added in 2014-15 • English and Math Curriculum & Assessment Teams • Tutoring - After-school and In-Class. Certificated & Classified. • Interventions - support classes during and after school, online credit/grade recovery • Classified Guidance Support Specialists (2) – added in Feb. 2015 • Phoenix Rising - services for at-risk 9th graders • Summer Connections - program for socially promoted incoming freshmen • Professional Development – Book Study • EL Program Support - Coordinator, Program Assistants, Testing Clerks • Health Services • Pregnant & Parenting Teens Program - Infant/Toddler Care

Goal #1 New &/or Significantly Modified Services • Two additional Science teachers (including Integrated Ag Sci) • One additional Fine Arts teacher • Science and Social Studies Curriculum & Assessment Teams • Instructional Day - Increased by 4% over 2014-15 to create a separate 31 minute advisory/intervention/enrichment period • Two additional counselors (repurpose current half-time positions) • Add one additional Phoenix Rising teacher - shift focus of program to reclassified frosh

  6. Goal #2 • Effectively use instructional strategies and resources, including technology, to improve student learning and achievement.

Goal #2 Continuing & Expanded Services • Technology • Classroom Devices for Students - 5 COWS • Workshops & Training for Teachers - Effective Instructional Strategies • Differentiated Instruction for English Learners • Stipends for EL Program Teachers New &/or Significantly Modified Services • Technology • Classroom Devices for Teachers • Workshops & Training for Administrators • ACSA Principals Academy

  8. Goal #3 • Implement the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) across all content areas.

  9. Goal #3 Continuing & Expanded Services • Professional Development – CCSS related strategies • Curriculum Development – Summer work for teachers • ELD curriculum development and resources

  10. Goal #4 • Improve communication among all stakeholders.

Goal #4 Continuing & Expanded Services • Communication Strategies • Open discussion forums at sites “chat sessions” • New website • Phone notification system plus texting feature to be added • Stakeholder meetings and 2nd semester parent/student event • Articulation with Feeders and IVC New &/or Significantly Modified Services • Leadership Workshop for Students (CUHS) • Parent Involvement Plan

Goal #5 • Provide a more diverse selection of curricular offerings in order to increase student engagement and school connectedness through expanded access to rigorous and high interest coursework; targeted support for struggling students; and specialized curricula designed to accelerate EL student’s acquisition of English.

  15. Goal #6 • #6a -Actively recruit, hire and retain highly qualified teachers. • #6b - Provide standards aligned instructional materials for all students. • #6c - Improve and maintain facilities to provide a safe and effective learning environment.

Goal #6 New &/or Significantly Modified Services • Facilities Maintenance & Improvement • Drainage Project • Food Preparation and Eating facilities at DOHS • Facilities Improvement & Capital Renewal Plan (painting, electrical, HVAC, paving, plumbing, roofing, etc.) • Phoenix Rising modular classrooms • Chilled Water Dispensers • Collaborative/Innovative Classroom Furniture • Campus Safety • Add half-time position Security Guard at CUHS • Conduct a Threat Assessment • Provide Security Guard training
