CBOK Defined • The Global Internal Audit Common Body of Knowledge (CBOK) is the centerpiece of ongoing research efforts conducted by The IIA Research Foundation. CBOK provides a rich overview of how the profession is being practiced and viewed worldwide. • Anchored by a global practitioner survey, there are several components that sustain this vast study, including an expanded stakeholder study.
The Global Internal Audit Practitioner Survey In 2010, more than 13,500 internal auditors from 107 countries participated in the practitioner survey, making it the largest survey of internal auditors in the world. • Outcome of 2010 activities • Pilot Stakeholder Study (based in USA) • Six Research Reports
CBOK: 2015 & Beyond • The CBOK Resource Center • An online source for up-to-date information on the upcoming survey and study. Additionally, visitors have access to previously released reports based on prior studies. • The CBOK 2015 Practitioner Survey • February – March 2015 • Timely research reports on critical topics, such as: • Budgeting and staffing benchmarks. • Impact of IT risk. • Key skills for internal auditors. • Stakeholder opinions about internal audit activities. • Trends in risk management assurance. • The CBOK 2015 Stakeholder Survey • A partnership between Protiviti and The IIA Research Foundation, in conjunction with IIA Institutes
