For your Blended Genre paper you will be expected to create 8 authentic crots. As we discussed yesterday, 1 crot= one original creation using a specific writing style. The following examples will help you get your juices flowing and spark some creativity. These examples have been taken from a Blended Genre paper written by Mr. Schmitt on the famous abolitionist, John Brown. Of course, there are other examples from various sources to help with clarity. The Cinquain Format: Poem with 5 total lines. Line1: Two syllables Line2: Four syllables Line 3: Six syllables Line 4: Eight syllables Line 5: Two syllables Ex. Hanging from a tight noose the crowd watches blankly and the White Devil is lifeless at last. Poetry

Lyrics Format: Most songs contain multiple verses (2-3) and a chorus (refrain, that is repeated throughout the song) Story telling: Most songs tell a story about the following: A person, a significant event, a emotion/feeling. These are just a few examples. Rhyme scheme: Some songs are written so the end of word of each line rhymes. Lyricists also play with rhyme and use selected patterns. Lastly, the rhymes aren’t always perfect rhymes. Sometimes lyricists and songwriters use slant rhyme (aka imperfect rhyme). Songs
