REID EC The IDT is supporting and enabling the rural communities to effectively deal with poverty eradication through the optimum use and management of natural resources. The identified areas of operation are: • Training of 150 rural women in garment manufacturing and establishment of legal entities in the Port St Johns area. • Training of 108 community members in Bizana in construction courses for the construction of a Multi-Purpose Centre in Mngungu Village, Bizana. • Training of rural women from 19 villages of the Rharhabe Kingdom in hair styling and establishment of Rural Hair Salons. • Establishment of brick making sites in Camdeboo, Makana, Ndlambe and Blue Crane Local Municipalities.
REID and Job Creation EC (NATIONAL • Social facilitation and establishment of Council of stakeholders were undertaken; • 8 Rural Co-operatives were established and registered as follows: • Business plans were developed for the 8 Coops; • Skills audit was conducted; • Protective clothing was supplied; • Training of Coops is complete. • Tractors have been delivered. Other agricultural inputs have been procured.
REID -KZN The following machinery/equipment have been supplied to the Cooperatives: • Tractor and Planter for Indlalifa Coop • Goats for the Goat Mover Co-operative • Seeds/fertilizers and chemicals for Khanyisani Coop • 2 block-making machines for Siyenzisisa Block-making Coop • Vehicle for Ntsikelelo Coop • Sewing material for Isibusiso Cooperative • Tractor and equipment for Wwosa trading as Mantonjana • Tractor for Ibhodwe Secondary Cooperative • Rainwater Tank for Lutheran Church Institution • Water tank for Incutshe Primary School • Consultancy services for the KZN Arts and Crafts • Seeds and fertilizers for Household gardens • Payment of wages and stipends for household Profiling is on-going
