Glossary • Earth: The solid matter of this planet; dry land; ground. • Earth Day: A day's observance of the need to protect the Earth's environment, in many countries on April 22 • Pollution: The introduction of harmful substances or products into the environment. • Global Warming: An increase in the earth's average atmospheric temperature that causes corresponding changes in climate and that may result from the greenhouse effect • Recycle: To undergo reuse or renewal; be subject to or suitable for further use, activity. • Reduce: To bring down to a smaller extent, size, amount, number of used objects. • Reuse: To use again, especially after salvaging or special treatment or processing.
