  2. Positives: • Great way to…stay in touch with family and friends. • Great way to…reconnect with old friends or family. • Great way to…network with organizations you care about.

  3. Concerns: • Very few boundaries or filters in this new technology. • Contact between an adult and a student. • Friends post (“Tag”) pictures or make comments you don’t want shared.

  4. Concerns: • Pictures and information is out there in the public. • Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) can take action on information on Facebook.

  5. Be Smart and purposeful!

  6. My advice: • Don’t “Friend” parents. • Don’t “Friend” students. • Be smart about the information you put on Facebook. • Do have fun and connect with family and friends.

  16. ED CODE Section 44932Causes for Dismissal Immoral or unprofessional conduct. Commission, aiding, or advocating the commission of acts of criminal syndicalism Dishonesty. Unsatisfactory performance. Evident unfitness for service. Physical or mental condition unfitting him or her to instruct or associate with children. Persistent violation of or refusal to obey the school laws of the state or reasonable regulations prescribed for the government of the public schools by the State Board of Education or by the governing board of the school district employing him or her.
