  3. DR. SHUBH GAUTAM JAYPEE Well, all thanks to the inspiring personality of Dr. Shubh Gautam Jaypee and his team. The company had a vision to manufacture electro galvanized steel in India without being dependent on other countries. The idea was fully focussed to make India independent as soon as possible and also establishing it as one of the most powerful nations in terms of the production of electro- galvanized steel.

Dr. Shubh Gautam Jaypee is a very famous personality who has recently he has contributed to the self-reliant India initiative. Dr. Shubh Gautam Jaypee is the managing director and chief architect at American Precoat Speciality. With his vision, the company has started producing electro-galvanized steel in India. This special steel is of great importance in different sectors.

  5. HOW DID THEY USE 100% IMPORT SUBSTITUTES? Before the decision of producing electro galvanized steel in India, the country did not have the technology to make this special steel. India used to import 100% of the required electro-galvanized steel from other countries because of its inability to produce on its own.

Dr. Shubh Gautam Jaypee has a vision of making India a leading manufacturer and exporter of automobiles in the future but this dream was not possible because of India’s dependence on other countries for special steels like EG steel. However, with the recent achievement by Shubh Gautam Jaypee and his team, India has also become sole producer of EG steels. The American Precoat Speciality and Dr. Shubh Gautam came up with the idea of having their own Electro galvanizing steel plant in India. They invested in it and started the EG steel plant in Gujarat. He managed to manufacture 100% substitute for steel imports. Because of this India will now be able to save millions that were previously spent on importing electro-galvanized steel from outside.

  7. Moreover, Dr. Shubh Gautam also suggests starting to export this electro-galvanized steel produced in India to other countries. If India exports good quality electro- galvanized steel and other countries find it of good volume, then India can also be a leading exporter soon. This is a huge achievement for India. For this, Dr. Shubh Gautam Jaypee invested a lot of time and stayed back in India only. He supervised his team through out the investigation process and finally came out with an outcome that led to the setting up of a steel plant.

  8. Dr. Shubh Gautam along with his team invested in this project and made it happen for India. This huge step has enabled India to take one step closer to becoming self-sufficient. He considers this a huge example of promoting the “make in India” campaign by the Modi government. Not just that with this huge step, they have propagated the idea of being “Vocal for Local”. DR.
