  2. Summary • The video game industry has grown exponentially in the past few decades • Through popularity, comes piracy • As game become popular, it becomes increasingly more likely that a game will be pirated

  3. Ethics • Why are people not willing to pay for someone else's hard work? • Is it because they can? • Sense of empowerment? • If a game is stolen, are faulty security measures or hackers to blame?

  4. ACM Code of Ethics • Harm to others • Harms company and retailers that sell game • Honor Property Rights • Taking a game that isn’t theirs

  5. Results • As the industry moves forward, more people will attempt to steal games, and more people will be hired in attempt to thwart them. • The hackers are at fault for stealing the property and releasing it to the public, as are people that download them illegally
