History of the Concept of IAJR • Seeing judo researchers at sport congresses in the past • Creation of the USA Judo Coach Conference with research presentations (Colorado Springs, CO, 1994) • Creation of IJF Judo Conference (Birmingham, England, 1999) • Continuation • 2001 – Munich, Germany • 2003 – Osaka, Japan • 2005 – Cairo, Egypt
This year • Six oral presentations • Fifty one poster presentations • First author representatives from 18 different countries • Too large to be part of the IJF conference • Judo researchers need an independent, stable organization for dissemination of results, and to network with other judo researchers around the world
