This may or may not be displayed on the server’s local screen. A server can be connected to one or more viewers via the RFB protocol. RFB protocolThe RFB (“remote framebuffer”) protocol used in VNC is open and platform-independent. As the desktop changes, the server sends updates consisting of rectangular areas of pixels, encoded in a suitable way. The viewer sends back mouse and keyboard events. VNC viewerA viewer connects to a server via the RFB protocol. It renders the server’s desktop on a physical display and provides mouse and keyboard input. VNC is freely available on our website.
