MethodsofPackaging • As a supplier to Mopar, you have the option to package service parts 1 of 2 ways • Unitized (1 part per package) • OR • Bulk (multiple pieces per package) • A Package Engineer will be assigned to work with you based on part commodity and/or Mopar buyer
Dimensions and Weight • The Mopar Warehouse Management System is based entirely on dimensions and weight • It is key that when you are submitting your packaging information, that the dimensions and weight are 100% accurate • During the submission process you will be required to provide the UN-PACKAGED part dimensions in Inches and UN-PACKAGED weight in pounds and ounces • You will also be required to provide the PACKAGED dimensions in inches and PACKAGED weight in pounds and ounces
Dimensions and Weight Cont. • All measurements should be taken to the nearest ¼” • Length should be the longest dimension • Width should be the second longest dimension, perpendicular to the length • Depth/Height is the smallest and last remaining dimension • All weights should be taken to the nearest ounce • Failure to comply may result in a non-conformance ticket issued to your location & charged back for re-labeling
UnitizedPackaging • Unitized Packaging (P-line) • Individually placing a part in a carton, bag or other container • Container must be labeled with Mopar Unit Label (i.e. L-24) • All Unit labels/master pack labels must be purchased through Mopar’s single source label supplier, RR Donnelley • moparlabels@rrd.com • A unit/primary container is considered anything which directly • Protects • Conceals • Identifies a product for final handling and distribution
Bulk Packaging Requirements • NPR parts that cost greater than $2.00 US (M-Line)must be identified with a Mopar Service Part Number and a 3 of 9 barcode • Label • Wire tag • Parts that do not require unit packaging (NPR - No Packaging Required) or parts sent to a Mopar Third Party Packager (3PP) are considered bulk packed
NPR - No Packaging Required • If NPR part value is less than $2.00, the part number is not required to appear on the part (shipped LOOSE) Loose Label
SingleSourceLabelSupplier New Design Old Design • All unit part labels used on individual part packs must be purchased from Mopar’s label supplier • Standard label sizes: • L-12: 1 X 2 • L-13: 1 X 3 • L-22: 2 X 2 • L-23: 2 X 3 • L-24: 2 X 4 • Labels must be printed on a thermal transfer printer • Insures that the barcodes are machine readable • RR Donnelley has guaranteed pricing of .026 cent per label in lots of 5000 • RR Donnelley will also print complete labels for an incremental fee • Failure to comply with this label may result in a non-conformance ticket issued to your location & charged back for re-labeling
