(learners needs?) • Positive influence on learners as instruction is varied (need based) • Encourages teacher judgment, selecting content suitable for learners • Increases the likelihood that content has learner relevance • Modifies instruction based on learner differences • Allows more latitude for creative planning for individual teacher
