  1. Fast Fun Facts It was a 2,000 mile journey. 10,000 people died. Some people were poor and had to use wheelbarrows. When it was night they used the wagons as a fence. One wagon could carry 2,500 pounds.

  2. The Oregon Trail When Henry Sager decided to go west in 1844, he wasn`t alone. During the 1840`s thousands of families made the same journey. The families packed or squeezed all they needed in a wagon and began their long walk to Oregon or California. Today we call those people pioneers or settlers, at the time, they were known as emigrants. The earliest families that went were viewed slightly crazy. The emigrants understood the risks they were taking. However their desire for fresh land of their own was very strong. Their desire for adventure was very strong to. In small groups the in huge numbers they set off along the Oregon Trail.

  3. Fun and gamesalong the way How did children entertain them self when they traveled? They had to have fun. They did not have TV, or laptop, or Xbox, Nintendo wii, playstation. THEY play BINGO!
