  2. What are copperheads , why do they live here , and what do you do when bitten? These are a few questions you might ask. Well I’m here to tell you about copperheads ,why they live here , and what you must do when bitten.

  3. First I’m going to tell you about copperheads. Copperheads have a broad triangular shaped head. Most copperheads are olive or tan and have loreal pits between there eyes and nostrils. They are especially bright after molting or shedding there old skin off. There young are 7-10 in or 18 – 25 cm long. They have a sulfur yellow tipped tail.

  4. The copperheads are social snakes that can strike at a distance of one third to one half of there own body length. They are the most common venomous snakes in the eastern parts of the u.s. The males are aggressive during the spring and autumn mating season. There initial threat is to strike. Copperheads young eat most insects including caterpillars.

  5. They eat mainly fish but , also eat frogs , lizards , rats , and mice. Copperheads live near water and is in the viperadae family. They like to climb in bushes and is known for there white mouth. They will warn the enemy they are about to bite. They like to hang from branches above the water and they swallow there prey headfirst. There fangs curve back into there mouths and does not seem to fear humans. Young cottonmouths have yellow tails. They can be aggressive if you mess with them. Some live under rocks and logs while most of them live swamps.

  6. Next , I will tell why they live here. They live in the southeastern region because of the warmth. It is warm here because we live close to the equator.

  7. Finally , I will tell you what you must do when bitten. If you get bitten , you must seek medical attention amedietly. Also they won’t bite if you leave them alone.

  8. Clearly , That is what you need to know about copperheads , why they live here , and what you must do when bitten. Remember leave them alone and they will leave you alone.
