Where does he get ideas? • Some of his ideas floated around in his head since • he was a kid. • One time, he got an idea for a book from punching • holes in a stack of paper. • He gets lots of ideas from nature.
Eric Carle’s Artwork • Eric Carle makes collage illustrations. • He mixes paint with water. • Then he paints bold colors onto white tissue paper. • He paints with brushes and his fingers. • When the paper dries, he cuts out shapes. • He glues the shapes down to make pictures. • Sometimes, he uses crayons and colored pencils to add • details.
What are we going to do? We are going to read lots of Eric Carle books! We are going to play games based on them! We are going to act them out! We are going to make collages! We are going to make our own books!
