Activity Overview • Students will: • Watch “Harvest Of Fear” video and take notes. • Research your specific question about “Genetically Modified Organisms” • Organize main ideas into a WordleTMslide. • Complete & turn in a Works Cited Page of sources used. • Through the presentation and explanation of the slide, attempt to persuade the class to agree with their research information.
Specific Research Questions: Each student or student group will be assigned ONE of the following questions. Each student or student group will be assigned to defend the YES ARGUMENTor the NO ARGUMENT. • Are GMOs safe to eat? • Have scientists gone too far in tampering with nature? • Do GMOs damage the environment? • Do we need GMOs to feed the world? • Are GMOs worth the risk? • Are the biotech companies that are creating GMOs gaining too much power over people? • Are GMOs helping farmers around the world?
