NAMB Statutory Functions • Section 26 A 1 • COORDINATE Artisan Development in the Republic. • Section 26 A 2 • Monitor the performance of accredited trade test centres; • Moderate artisan trade tests; • Develop, maintain and apply a national databank of assessment instruments for assessment and moderation of artisan trade tests; • Develop and maintain a national database of registered artisan trade assessors and moderators; • Record artisan achievements; • Determine appeals against assessment decisions; • Recommend the certification of artisans to the QCTO; and • Perform any other prescribed function {SLA with QCTO} Artisan Strategy Presentation: NAMB 2016

New Developments on the Trades • Implementing 8 trades in ARPL • 5 were launched in October 2017 • Welder, Boiler maker, Motor Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic & Fitter • 3 (Hairdresser) implanted in December 2017 • Afro, Ladies Caucasian & Gents • Integrated the legacy and Occupational Qualification toolkits Artisan Strategy Presentation: NAMB 2016

  5. Single National Interim Trade Test • Presented at NADQAC for implementation • Estimated date for implementation – 1st July 2018 • 5 trades will be piloted on: • Electrician • Fitter • Fitter & Turner • Welder • Boilermaker Artisan Strategy Presentation: NAMB 2016

  6. Quality Assurance • TTC must send TT Schedules as per Regulation 7.1 of the TT Regs. • Schedules – consolidated into Provincial and National • Certificate applications – compared to the schedules before recommendation to QCTO • External moderations conducted – SLA with TTCs Artisan Strategy Presentation: NAMB 2016
