Northern Lights • Northern Lights Quick Facts: • Also known as Polar Auroras • Appear as glowing sheets or dancing waves • The Northern Lights come in all different colors ranging from orange, red, yellow, blue and green. • The colors are as a result of different gases such as oxygen and nitrogen giving off light due to the particles striking them. • Return to the Wonders!
Paricutin Volcano • Quick Facts: • The Paricutin volcano grew out of a cornfield. • The Paricutin volcano now stands at exactly 1,345 feet above the ground and 9,210 feet above sea level. • Last erupted in 1952 • The worst of Paricutin's volcanic activity, took place in 1943, with its lava rising to about 50 feet below the crater's rim. Victoria Falls • Victoria Falls also known as "Mosioa-Tunya" ("the smoke that thunders") • Victoria Falls is the world’s largest curtain of falling water. • at 108 metres high and 1,708 metres wide. • Victoria Falls literally divides two countries.
