Prevalence • 0.6% of the population has autism spectrum disorder • 0.27% of students age 6-17 are identified as autistic and receive special education • The prevalence has increased over the last 30-40 years • Higher prevalence in males 3:1 or 4:1 (except Rett Syndrome)
