1) When a number is tripled and then added to 35, the result is 101. Find the number.
2) If you double a number and then subtract 75, you get one-third of the original number. What is that number?

4) Sheila is 5 times as old as her nephew. In four years, she will be 3 times as old as her nephew. How old is Sheila now?
5) Barbara has one-fourth as many 8-cent stamps as 14-cent stamps. Their value is $4.48. How many 8-cent stamps does she have? value of individual stamp times number of stamps equals total value
