What is Nanotechnology? • The study and manipulation of material at the nanoscale. • Think very, very small…smaller than anything you can see under a conventional microscope. • One nanometer equals one billionth of a meter!
How do we see things at the Nanoscale? Scanning Electron Microscope • Use electrons instead of light. • Electrons are smaller than the wavelength of light. • Atomic Force Microscope • Uses a very sharp tip, a few atoms wide, to “see” things by tracing their shape. • Can view DNA and atoms.
Why Care About Nanotechnology? Manipulation of materials on the nanoscale can enable huge changes in properties.

CLEANROOM JOB OPENINGS Technicians • Develop and improve processes, troubleshoot nonstandard events in the production line, and review technological health and stability. • Perform functions associated with all areas of production including operations, equipment, process and training. • Collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line equipment adjustment and ensure process optimization. • Role requires high degree of judgment and initiative is required to resolve complex nonstandard problems and develop recommendations Qualifications:Technical Associates Degree OR equivalent practical experience Operators • Monitor, control, and operate computerized wafer, test, probe, or assembly equipment. • Read and process job specifications, schematics, shop orders and operating instructions. • Ability to perform basic math calculations, identify basic functional problems, take corrective action, and interface with supervisors and engineers to explain problems. Physical Requirements: • Able to wear full clean room attire, work around chemicals (acids & solvents), stand for up to 6 hours at a time and lift up to 10 pounds or push/pull up to 30 pounds. Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED required. All applicants must be 18 years old Engineers • Define requirement roadmaps, goals and milestones for a new technology processes. • Establish work flows, procedures, and equipment configurations. • Develop materials and select equipment to meet quality, reliability, cost, yield, productivity and manufacturability requirements. • Characterize processes throughout the development cycle. • Drive improvements on quality, reliability, cost, yield, process stability • Transfer processes to high-volume manufacturing and support in new factory bring-ups. Qualifications:Bachelors or Masters degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or Chemistry OR equivalent practical experience
