Word problems Motion Problems We use the equation (rate × time = distance). Example 1: A train leaves Sioux City traveling east at 30 km/h. Two hours later, another train leaves Sioux City traveling in the same direction on a parallel track at 45 km/h. How far from Sioux City will the faster train catch the slower one?
