Collaborative Staging Edits • On-line Batch Upload/Edits program • Effective on January 18th, 2005 • CS Edits are all mandatory edits • CS Edits are not allowed to be forced (data may not be over-ridden)
CS Data Items • CS Extension • CS Lymph Nodes • CS Tumor Size • CS Site-Specific Factors
Edit 288 • For any Histologic Type other than 9140 (KS), if the CS Tumor Size = 000, then the CS Extension must = 95.
Edit 289 • If CS Extension = 00 or 05, then behavior must = 2.
Edit 294 • C500-C509: If CS Lymph Nodes = 00, then CS SSF 4 must = 000-009; If CS Lymph Nodes does not = 00, then CS SSF 4 must = 888.
Edit 305 • If Primary Site = C619 & ICD-O-3 Morph is not 9140, 9590-9699, 9702-9729, or 9731-9989 & no prostatectomy was performed (RX Summ Surg Prim Site not = 30, 50, 70, 80, or 90), then CS SSF 3 must = 096, 097, or 098.
Edit 306 • If Primary Site = C620-C629 and CS SSF 4 = 000, then RX Summ Surg Primary Site must not = 40.
Edit 307 • CS Tumor Size must be a valid three-digit number.
Edit 308 • If Morph ICD-O-3 = 8720-8790 (Melanoma) & the Primary Site = C440-C449, C510-C512, C518-C519, C600-C602, C608-C609, C632, C690, C693 or C694 & If CS Tumor Size = 000, then CS SSF 1 must = 000.
Edit 356 • If Primary Site = C809, then CS Tumor Size must equal 999.
Edit 383 • For any Primary Site other than C420-C424, C760-C765, C767-C768, C770-C775, C778-C779, C809, if the CS Tumor Size = 000, then the CS Extension must = 95.
CS Edits Update Edit 358 Malignant Melanoma of the Skin, Vulva, Penis and Scrotum: If SSF 3 = 000, then CS Lymph Nodes must = 00, 13-15, or 99. • Codes 13, 14 and 15 are now allowed if the SSF 3 = 000 • CS Manual, Part II, page 441
New CS Edits • Edit 371 (Brain & CNS Schema) • Edit 372 (Bladder Schema) • Edit 373 (Breast Schema) • Edit 374 • Edit 375 (Breast Schema) • Edit 376 (Breast Schema)
Edit 371 • If Primary Site=C70.0-C72.9, C75.1-C75.3 and behavior= 0 or 1, then CS Extension must = 05.
Edit 372 • If Primary Site = C67.0-C67.9 and behavior = 2, then CS Extension must = 01-06 or 10.
Edit 373 • If Primary Site = C50.9-C50.9 and behavior = 2, then CS Extension must = 00, 05, or 07.
Edit 374 • If CS Lymph Nodes = 10-80 or Regional Nodes Positive=1-97, then behavior must = 3 and CS Extension must not be less than 10.
Edit 375 • C500-C509: If CS Lymph Nodes = 00, then SSF 5 must = 000-002; If CS Lymph Nodes does not = 00, then SSF 5 must = 888.
Edit 376 • C500-C509: If SSF 3 = 001-097, then CS Lymph Nodes must not = 00, 74, or 77.
Suggestions • Refer to the correct Collaborative Staging Schema. • web.facs.org/cstage/schemalist.htm
Suggestions • Most CS Schemas apply to cases defined by their ICD-0-3 primary site codes and some by their Histologic type codes. • The Histologic specific schemas take precedence over the site-specific schemas.
Suggestions • Read all the notes pertaining to each of the CS data items. • The notes provide specific instructions on when to use the codes. • And remember, if you change the primary site and/or histology, the codes for the CS fields may change.
