Global Competency for ALL Students International Strategy Goal 1 • Race/Ethnicity • Study Abroad (2008): • 82% White • 4% Black • 6% Latino • 6% Asian American U.S. Diversity 40%-60% of U.S. undergraduates attend institutions where there are few international studies and study abroad opportunities.
Focus Questions: 1. How can we effectively address the issues of “Diversity & Access” through our grant programs in order to increase global competency for all U.S. students? • Proposing Invitational/Competitive Priorities • Targeting population or applicant pool • Identifying expected activities & outcomes • Exploring grant application/proposal requirements • In which ways can the field leverage its existing expertise and experience to support IFLE in meeting our program goals and addressing national priorities? • Infrastructure, form, format for collaboration • Data collection and reporting – IRIS Re-clearance • Existing best practices – How do we capture info on NRCs who currently respond effectively to national and ED priorities?
