In the Spring 2002 - Edie Everly met with Marc Smith, president of MHA, about starting a personal membership group (PMG) for hospital executive assistants.
One assistant from each district was asked to serve on a committee to begin developing MHCEA. District 1 – Edie Everly District 2 – Lori Bell District 3 – Jan Feehan District 4 – Lisa Featherston District 5 – Cathy Molder District 6 – Roxie Davis
In March 21, 2003, first executive assistant conference was held in Jefferson City. • Vivian Watson was the keynote speaker • 65 attendees
In April 2, 2004, the second annual conference was held at The Country Club Hotel and Spa in Osage Beach. • MHCEA was formalized • 78 attendees
