  2. Need / Milestones • Replace an outdated personnel safety systems in present mining with a new state of art personnel tracking and vital monitoring system. • Reliable heart rate monitoring – 9/30/12 • Wireless antenna cluster 9/30/12 • GUI mock up, using virtual inputs 9/30/12

  3. Recent Tasks • Heartbeat monitor design • GUI layout and requirement • Deciding at what location processing will occur • Physical layout to include modular design.

  4. Ongoing Progress • Reverse engineer chest strap heart rate • Respiration sensor conceptualized • Transmitting heartbeat over the Zigbees
