Spur Gears • Most simple type of gear • Cylinder with teeth • The edge of each tooth is straight so it may hook on to parallel structures
Worm Gears • Resemble screws • Simple and Compact (for torque) • Similar to helix gear • If at least one tooth persists for a if rotation it is a worm gear. • Worm gears can have as little as one tooth.
Crown Gears • Also called contrate gears • Teeth are right angles • The orientation of the angles make it look like a crown • Changes turning motion from motion on the X axis to motion on the y axis
