The Star of David will be found on the outside of a synagogue, it is the symbol for Judaism. The word ‘synagogue’ means ‘meeting place’
In many synagogues there are stained glass windows showing important symbols of faith: including the Star of David, The Menorah or the Ten Commandments. Stained Glass Windows What other place of worship also has this feature?
The Ark is the most important feature in the synagogue.Inside the ark, the handwritten holy scrolls of the Torah are kept. The Ark The Ten Commandments decorate the Ark, reminding Jews of their most important rules.
The Bimah This is a Bimah. A Bimah is a platform in the centre of the synagogue. The scrolls are read from here.
Also known as NerTamid. This light is kept burning to show God is always present.
