5. نخستین پیوند نسج(جسد) در ایران پیوند قرنیه بود که در سال ۱۳۱۴ انجام گرفت. دومین پیوند نسج در ایران در سال ۱۳۴۷ پیوند کلیه بود. سال ۱۳۷۲ نخستین پیوند قلب و کبد و سال ۱۳۷۹ اولین پیوند ریه در ایران انجام شد. نخستین پیوندهای پانکراس و روده به سال ۱۳۸۵ برمی‌گردد. بر اساس آمار وزارت بهداشت تا پایان سال ۸۷ تعداد پیوند کبد ۶۹۷ مورد، قلب ۲۱1 مورد، پانکراس ۵۱، مغز استخوان دو هزار مورد و دریچه قلب دو هزار و ۸۷۲ مورد،1۶۴۲ پیوند قرنیه و ۳۴ پیوند ریه دو هزار پیوند کلیه انجام می‌شود. در حال حاضر پیوند کلیه در ۲۵ مرکز، پیوند قلب در چهار مرکز، پیوند ریه در دو مرکز، پیوند کبد در سه مرکز و پیوند پانکراس در یک مرکز انجام می‌شود پیوند عضو، پیوند زندگیست

50. دختر هفت ساله اي به نام "شبنم ميرزايي" چهارم شهريورماه به دليل سرگيجه و كاهش سطح هوشياري به بيمارستان ميلاد منتقل مي شود و پس از انجام سي تي اسكن‘ پزشكان متوجه كلافه عروقي و پاره شدن يكي از رگ هاي اين دختربچه مي شوند با توجه به اين مشخصات پزشكان مرگ مغزي اين كودك را اعلام مي كنند. می شوندبا رضايت خانواده قلب، كليه ها و كبد شبنم به منظور پيوند استفاده مرحوم جهانبخش سهرابي اصل، 40 ساله از اهالي روستاي هفت چشمه بخش مارگون، هفته گذشته دچار خونريزي مغزي شد كه پس از تاييد مرگ مغزي از سوي تيم پزشكان دانشگاه علوم پزشكي استان و رضايت خانواده، كليه ها و كبد وي به بيماران نيازمند اهداء شد. پیوند عضو، پیوند زندگیست اعضای یک جوان اصفهاني كه بر اثر سانحه رانندگي دچار مرگ مغزي شده بود، به هفت نفر اهدا شد. جوان اهدا كننده اعضا، شب پانزدهم ماه مبارك رمضان هنگامي كه با موتوسيكلت خود در حال عبور از خيابان بود با خودرويي تصادف كرد و دچار مرگ مغزي شد.    «عباس فرج الله اصفهاني » پدر اين جوان در گفت وگو با ايرنا گفت « هفت عضو فرزندم شامل كليه ، ريه ، كبد، چشم ، قلب ، تاندون دست هاي راست و چپ به بيماران نيازمند اهدا شد.
