What is a color correction? • Images could need adjustment to either colors, values or both. • Photos can sometimes have a color SHIFT, too much red or blue, etc. This is known as a COLOR CAST.
How can I access the color correction controls? • IMAGE menu Automatic filters: • auto tone • auto contrast • auto color • IMAGE menu ADJUSTMENTSManual controls: • Hue/Saturation • Color Balance • Shadows / Highlights
What is COLOR BALANCE? • Drag the arrows toward the color you want to add. • Independently control the shadows, midtones and highlights.
What is SHADOWS/HIGHLIGHTS? • Special filter design to just effect the tonal or value range in an image. • Use when shadows are too dark or “filled in”.
What is HUE / SATURATION? • Adjusts color by HUE, SATURATION or LIGHTNESS (brightness or value). • Use MASTER to affect the entire image.
Choose a target color to affect only those portions of the image.
What is COLORIZE? • Color is first converted to GRAYSCALE and then a specific HUE is combined with those values.
What is COLORIZE? • The affects the entire image.
How can I colorize in areas? • Use the COLOR mode with the paintbrush, fill or layer to spot colorize.
