Supplemental Figure 1. Effect of JA-Trp on root growth in jasmonate mutants coi1-17 and jar1-1 compared with Col-0 wild type. Root length was measured 6 d after sowing seeds and the % inhibition relative to growth in the absence of conjugate was calculated for each genotype. Decreased response in the mutants suggests root inhibition by JA-Trp is at least partially due to hydrolysis of the conjugate to release JA, which is then conjugated to isoleucine by JAR1 in wild type plants. The resulting JA-Ile then inhibits root growth through the COI1 jasmonate receptor signaling pathway. Error bars indicate SE of the means.
