  3. It has a population of 34,280 inhabitants and is the third largest island in the Dodecanese area after Rhodes and Karpathos and the second most populous after Rhodes.

  4. The surface of the island is 290.3 km . with 112 km shoreline. The capital is Kos, which is the main port of the island.

  5. The most striking feature of the island is the endless bike paths, so it is too often characterized as Kos island cycling.

  6. Kos was also called "island of Hippocrates," the father of medicine, because he was born there.
