Why do we need LifeStraw®? • Today, more than one billion people of the world's population are without access to safe drinking water. • Half of the world's poor suffer from waterborne disease, and nearly 6,000 people - mainly children - die each day by consuming unsafe drinking water.

LifeStraw® water purifiers have been developed as a practical way of preventing disease and saving lives, as well as achieving the Millennium Development Goal of reducing by one-half the proportion of people without sustainable access to safe water by the year 2015.
LifeStraw® Personal is a portable water purifier for prevention of common diarrhoeal disease – can be carried around for easy access to safe and clean drinking water.
Second Polio+? • Easy access to safe drinking water away from home. • Kills and removes 99.999% of waterborne bacteria and 99% of waterborne viruses. • Requires no electrical power or spare parts for the life time of the straw. • It has proven to be effective against waterborne diseases such as typhoid, cholera, dysentery, and diarrhea.
