  4. Types of Dual Enrollment • ACCEL • Dual HOPE Grant • Move On When Ready • Articulated Credit • Early College • Gateway to College • Residential Programs *Indicator on CCRPI (Post-High School Readiness): Percent of graduates earning high school credit(s) for accelerated enrollment via ACCEL, Dual Hope Grant, Move On When Ready, Early College, Gateway to College, AP Courses, or IB Courses

  8. MOU with LTC • All decisions will be guided by what is in the best interest of the student. • Parents, high schools, and Lanier Technical College (LTC) make an investment in and share the cost of the dual enrollment opportunity. • Student/parents are responsible for other mandatory or optional items such as malpractice insurance, scrubs, stethoscope, welding helmet, etc. • Secondary school systems will provide the CTAE books for the students. Costs will vary by the book and number of students enrolled. • If a student qualifies for Hope Grant, Lanier Technical College commits to exempting all tuition, not covered by HOPE, and fees with the exception of a one-time application fee of $15.00 per student. • LTC commits to using the same textbook for a minimum of five years. The high school will order the books and use its local policy in the issuing of the books. • All stakeholders may send textbook suggestions to Jeff Fitzpatrick, High School Coordinator, and he will discuss these issues with Dr. Barrow and Dr. Tolleson depending on the campus where the dual enrollment student is registered. The college will always make sure the student’s best interest is considered when adopting books. • All parties will work toward LTC offering classes as needed on high school campuses. Jeff Fitzpatrick will be the contact to discuss and request classes held on the high school campus.

  9. Next Steps • Importance of ensuring individual students are ready for this level of rigor • Regular meetings with high school counselors to determine individual student needs/interests, future college goals, etc. • Regular meetings with Lanier Technical College and University of North Georgia to discuss possible options for our students • Market dual enrollment for the 2014-15 school year during upcoming registration season • Parent meetings in early 2014 on college campuses • University of North Georgia: January 27 and 28, 2014 (6 PM) • Lanier Technical College: February 4, 2014 (6 PM) • Feedback from current students in programs
