Daily Language Activities • Day 1: When I got to school this morning I was really tired. Last night a noise woke me up, after I had gone to sleep. • Day 2: A girl named Lily sat in the bleachers next to me, do you know her. She is tall, but she is not taller than jack.
Day 1: Introduction • A noun is a word that names a person, a place, or a thing. • A commonnoun names any person, place, or thing: sister, museum, house • A propernoun is the name or title of a specific person, place, or thing: Aunt Ida, House of Representatives
FYI • Proper nouns always begin with capital letters. If a proper noun has more than one word, each important word begins with a capital letter. • Example: New York, Mississippi River, United States of America, Babe Ruth, Louisville Slugger
