Trench orderly roomSoldiers working on paperwork in the regimental orderly room, which looks as if it may be close to the front line. The Battalion Orderly Room (BHQ) was where soldiers went to receive orders and to find out what was going on in the unit; letters would also be processed and censored here. Officers undertook the grim task of writing telegrams to the relatives of wounded or killed soldiers.
