2. Slavery’s Beginning • The earliest records of slavery can be traced back to 2050 BCE. There were slaves in every part of the worlds in ancient Egypt, ancient china, ancient Greece ect. The masters were the kings, the empires or the lords.

3. Early Slavery in America The slaves came from Africa. The Spanish went to Africa to bring the black slaves to America so the white masters could buy them.

4. Slaves Become Valuable For the masters, having slaves had a lot of benefits. For instance cheap labour and good income. The slaves worked hard and produced a lot of cotton .

5. Daily lives for Slaves There were a few slaves that lived in the mansion. They were the house slaves who cleaned and cooked the meals. Most of the slaves lived in shacks outside. They picked cotton all day in the extreme heat and were whipped and beaten.

6. Slavery Growth There was about four million slaves in America during 1800.They were all in the South.

7. Control over Slaves The slaves were intimidated when they saw another slave being whipped or beat. Some slaves were tortured. There punishments were being whipped, getting beat by a stick, chains around there neck, the braking of bones and beating out the eyes.

8. The Underground Railroad The underground railroad was used by the slaves to get to freedom. There is no train and no underground railroad. It is people who help the slaves escape the plantation then they go to certain houses were the people help the slaves by giving them food and shelter for a nigh or two.

9. Underground Hero Harriet Ross Tubman is an African American abolitionist and was a spy for the Union during the civil war. After she escaped from slavery she made thirteen rescue missions in the south and rescued more then 70 slaves.

10. Then End of Slavery Slavery came to an end in 1865 when the 13th Amendment was ratified after the end of the Civil War.
