  2. Created in 1949 by Judge Antonio, Parque de la Legión in Badajoz owes its name to fighters taking Badajoz in the Spanish Civil War. Noteworthy is the central promenade lined with impressive plane trees (Platanus hispanica) and the work of Juan de Ávalos inside the Bastion of Trinidad

  3. The statues in bronze of the four evangelists by Juan de Ávalos, are the original models for the statues in The Valley of the Fallen (Valle de los Caídos). In the middle of the Fallen Hero Memorial is another sculpture, a soldier who picks up another killed in combat
