  2. Sintra, a picturesque Portuguese town set amidst the pine-covered hills of the Serra de Sintra is known for its many 19th-century Romantic architectural monuments. Quinta da Regaleira, a fairytale-like estate located near Sintra-Vila is classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO within the “Cultural Landscape of Sintra”

  5. The palace contains five floors (a ground floor, three upper floors, and a basement). The ground floor consists of a series of hallways that all connect the living room, dining room, billiards room, some smaller rooms, balcony, and several stairways.   12. The theme of the “cycle of life” is evident throughout the room from the Venetian mosaic floor to the ceiling carvings

  14. Inside the Main House is the Hunting Room, which is really a dining room.  It is overwhelmed by the massive fireplace that supports the statue of a woodsman.  The mantelpiece depicts wonderfully carved hunting scenes.
