What is the JL (D) JIC! • A DoD collaborative effort Assessing and Analyzing today’s Joint Distribution problems to create solutions for the Future (2015-2025) • Army and TRANSCOM co-lead effort • Marine Corps head writer for Concept • Army head writer for CONOPs • Representatives from TRANSCOM, Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, JS J-2, J-4, J-6, DLA, JFCOM, COCOMs

Joint Logistics (Distribution) Joint Integrating Concept • Purpose of a JIC: • Support rigorous assessment / analysis of capability gaps & excesses via Capabilities Based Assessment • Derive future materiel and non-materiel distribution solutions across the domains of Doctrine, Organizational, Training, Materiel, Leader Development, Personnel, and Facilities (DOTLMPF) • Drive policy, training, organizational changes • JICS are conceptual – basis for effects – avoid detailed solutions • Scope of This JIC: • Conceptual description of joint deployment & distribution enterprise and how the operation of that enterprise could enhance conduct of joint operations across the full range of military operations in the period 2015-2025.

Central Idea • If we can: • Build a single deployment & distribution enterprise. • capable of rapidly delivering and positioning joint forces • at point of need and back again • Augment with scalable, and agile distribution capabilities • Network the entire enterprise • In real-time with shared knowledge • Total asset visibility • Then the results will be: • Enhanced deployment of forces & distribution • Rapid integration of theater distribution capabilities • Seamlessly linked joint forces Bottom line: Deliver the right stuff, to the right place, at the right time to create operational effects.
